EDUCATIONAL VISIT TO SKUAST-K INCUBATION CENTRE, SHALIMAR

On 24th July 2026, the students and mentor from Army Goodwill School (AGS) Hajinar visited the Incubation Centre, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir (SKUAST-K), Shalimar. The educational visit provided an excellent opportunity for the students to understand the startup ecosystem, innovation, entrepreneurship, and product development.

During the visit, the students explored a wide range of innovative products, successful startups, and patented technologies developed by entrepreneurs from across Jammu & Kashmir. The experts at the Incubation Centre explained how innovative ideas are transformed into successful products and startups, inspiring the students to think creatively and solve real-life problems through innovation.

An interactive session was conducted on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and Patents, where the experts explained the importance of protecting innovative ideas, the patent filing process, and the benefits of obtaining patents. The students were encouraged to pursue original ideas and convert them into practical innovations that can create a positive impact on society.

The delegation also visited the Fabrication Laboratory (Fab Lab), where students observed advanced machines and modern fabrication technologies used for designing and developing prototypes. They learned the complete journey of converting an idea into a functional product through design, prototyping, testing, and manufacturing. The practical exposure greatly enhanced their understanding of product development and modern engineering techniques.

During the interaction, Mr. Naveed, CEO, NAHEP, SKUAST-K, appreciated the enthusiasm and innovative spirit of the AGS Hajinar students. He assured the team that SKUAST-K will organize a dedicated Innovation and Entrepreneurship Workshop for the students of AGS Hajinar in the near future to further strengthen their knowledge and skills in innovation, startups, and technology.

The visit proved to be highly informative and inspiring for both the students and their mentor. It broadened their understanding of innovation, entrepreneurship, patents, and advanced fabrication technologies, while motivating them to develop impactful solutions for society.
